About

Hey there! My name is Jacy, and I'm the owner/sewist here at Hustle & Sew.
Hustle & Sew started in the Spring of 2020 when I was between jobs and uncertain what my future held. I had left my big, fancy job after years of climbing the "corporate ladder" because I just couldn't connect anymore with the career I had chosen. I took a leap of faith, knowing that I was talented and resourceful enough to figure something out.

My mother taught me to sew when I was in elementary school, and it has been a part of my life on and off ever since. I really got back in to it in 2018 when I decided that I REALLY needed to make a baby quilt for my sister's first kiddo. And then I made baby quilts for just about everybody I knew who had a little one over the next couple of years. And then like many others, I started making masks for friends and family during the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time, my spouse suggested that I start a shop on Etsy, to sell masks or anything else I wanted to make. I had considered sewing as a job many times throughout the years, but never felt it was a feasible way to support myself. But there I was, without a job or a plan, and without an excuse not to try it.

It's been a wild and beautiful ride and I'm so excited to see where this journey goes. I've changed shop names, added and removed products, redirected, and just learned so much. I am so thankful and so proud of myself. Hustle & Sew has had products featured on Buzzfeed in more than a dozen articles. On Etsy, Hustle & Sew has completed more than 13,000 sales. And then in 2022, Hustle & Sew launched as my very own website. I didn't know that this was my dream until I was in the middle of it, but I'm here and I'm loving it. And big shout out and endless gratitude to my mother and to my spouse for being absolute legends.
